Minutes from previous meeting The minutes from the previous meeting on Wednesday 1 November 2006 were approved by Trevor Wilson.
Matters arising
1. Quiz Night 18 May 2007
Mike Edwards has confirmed for this date. Trevor Wilson to apply for a licence and the Carrick Centre in Houston is booked for a 7.00 – 7.30 pm. start.
Peter Hempsey will provide posters and tickets to encourage ticket sales to staff.
2. Race Night 10 February 2007
After some discussion it was agreed to cancel this event due to the lack of available committee members to help with the organisation of such an event and also the lack of interest shown by parents and staff. It was also confirmed that this date fell during the February half term.
Possible alternatives were suggested by Peter Hempsey – an Easter Raffle and an Autumn Coffee Morning.
It was agreed by the committee that we should try the raffle.
This is to be run under licence and through a mail shot to all households of pupils and staff to try and raise as much awareness of the need for fundraising as possible.
Peter Hempsey very generously offered the involvement of the school office to administer the mail-out which could coincide with an information letter from Mr Watson.
It was agreed to print 2000 books of 5 tickets, each ticket selling for £1.00.
A further meeting to organise the raffle was arranged for 22 January at 7.30 pm at John Wilson’s house.
3. Ceilidh
£140.00 profit was made from this event which was very poorly attended. Most of the profit coming from ticket sales to people who could not attend!
What to do regarding this event next year is to be discussed at a future date.
