Matters arising

1. Quiz Night 2006

There were 42 people present at the Quiz Night on Friday 19 May and a profit of £427.00 was made. It should however be noted that the wine used for this occasion had been previously purchased. A good night was had by all present. John Wilson is owed £10 for the licence.

2. Race Night

The date proposed for the Race Night was 3 February 2007. John Wilson to contact Red Box and Houston Bowling Club to book this event.

3. Quiz Night 2007

The date proposed for the 2007 Quiz Night was 18 May. Angela and Heather are to research possible venues for this event in the local area.

4. Ceilidh

The Bowling Club and the band are both booked for the night of 11 November 2006. The school will print tickets which will be priced at £7 per person.

Committee members are to provide raffle prizes and after some debate it was agreed that only nuts and crisps will be provided on the evening.

Trevor Wilson will submit an advert to the local Advertiser giving two contact telephone numbers for tickets.

Tickets will be issued to committee members with a return date to enable us to monitor numbers of sales.

Peter Hempsey will pass on information regarding the Ceilidh to be mentioned in the school News Letter to be published by 6th year.

E-mail is to be pursued as a means of contacting parents.

Final arrangements will be made at the next committee meeting.

Correspondence Road to Parents Councils – Chair of the School Board, Graham Murnane, suggests meeting with P.T.A. to discuss. John to reply indicating a meeting will be sought. PTA feels we will remain the same.

Police Checks and Child Protection – it was agreed that as we do not have close contact with the pupils at functions that this is unnecessary.

100+ Club Trevor reported that 164 payments have been received, some reminders will be sent. There are approximately 170 members at present. It was felt that due to the P7 Parents evening in May concentrating on the decant of the school that this accounts for the fall in 100+ Club members.

The following draws were made:-

June – ball number 12 - £25 – David Gibson
July – ball number 156 - £25 – Craig Wilson
August – ball number 201 - £170 – James Darroch

Treasurers Report Caroline reported that with the Quiz Night and income from the 100+ Club the bank balance now stood at £4645.03

Wish List Peter Hempsey had an extensive Wish List, the following items were agreed.

The sum of £500.00 was made as an initial instalment. It is estimated that £2000.00 will be required to run this service while at the St Cuthbert’s building.

A cheque for £2955.00 was handed to Peter Hempsey to cover the above requests.

It is hoped that should Local Authority Grants be obtained then we will also be able to provide the money for Athletics tops with the Gryffe High logo printed on them and also a Digital Projector which has been requested by the Computing Department.
