Gryffe High School PTA Minutes Wednesday 11 Jan 2006

Welcome John Wilson, President, welcomed members to the meeting.

Present John Wilson, Julie Whiteford, Shirley White, Trevor Wilson, Caroline Watt, Angela Paterson and Heather Palmer.

Minutes from previous meeting The minutes from the last meeting on Wednesday 6 September were agreed.

Matters arising

1. Race Night

Houston Bowling Club was not available for the night of February 3. Date to be flexible as Peru Team could be organising a similar evening. Provisional date for PTA 10 February 2007.

2. Quiz Night 2007

The Carrick Centre has been booked for the night of 18 May 2007. Mike Edwards still to confirm and bar licence to be organised well in advance.

3. Ceilidh 11 November 2006

John Wilson to buy crisps and nuts. Raffle tickets and prizes to be provided by committee.

4. Parents Nights

5th/6th year no requirement.

1st year 6 February T.B.A.

5. Social Dances - T.B.A.

6. Grant Availability

This has still to be pursued – Trevor to e-mail councillors as deadline published as 14 November 2006.

John Wilson attended a meeting at Park Mains High School which was very inconclusive.

Treasurers Report Caroline reported a bank balance of £1706.88 at 30 September 2006.

Wish List Extensive ‘Wish List’ from Home Economics Department - £500 cheque to be spent as desired.

A.O.C.B. Concern was expressed by the committee about the lack of knowledge of parents regarding the needs of the school and funds required. A flier is to be considered to inform parents of P.T.A. activities.
