Gryffe High School PTA Minutes Wednesday 10 May 2006

Welcome John Wilson, President, welcomed members to the meeting.

Present John Wilson, Peter Hempsey, Caroline Watt, Julie Whiteford, Alan Tidd, Billy Sweetin, Jean Hay, Heather Palmer, Angela Paterson, Susan Macdonald and Trevor Wilson.

Minutes from previous meeting The minutes from the last meeting on Wednesday 15 March were agreed.

Matters arising

1. Quiz Night

The licence for the quiz night was still to be arranged. Trevor Wilson would pursue with Pamela McKie.

Tickets have been distributed and sales seem to be okay.

All other arrangements are in order.

2. Ceilidh 11 November 2006

To be discussed at next meeting

3. Primary 7 Parents evening

To be held on 18 May – there was some query as to whether the PTA could sell ties and promote 100 Club due to the nature of this meeting concerning the proposed decant to St Cuthbert’s.

4. Summer Concert

This event has been cancelled.

Correspondence The grants discussed at the meeting on 15 March have now been dealt with.

John Malcolm will re-apply for the annual grant – Caroline Watt to pursue.

100+ Club £25.00 April winner – Ron Wengell number 51
£200.00 May winner – Shirley McCann number 227

Trevor Wilson has very kindly agreed to take over the 100+ Club from Alan Tidd.

Wish List There will be a possible request for T Shirts for the 10 km run in aid of Yorkhill Hospital. This has been estimated at a cost of £400.

Another request may be made for track suits for the athletics group with “Gryffe High School” and logo on back – P Hempsey is to research cost.

Treasurers Report The bank balance as at 28 April 2006 was £2607.12

Date of next meeting The next meeting of the PTA will be 7.30 pm on Wednesday 6 September 2006. Location to be arranged.
